John T. Hodgson

Mr. Hodgson joined the Jamaica Constabulary Force at age 18, and shortly after received the rank of detective corporal. In 1984 he migrated to Florida.

John was the recipient of the 1996 and 1998 Reggae Soca Music awards, “Radio Personality of the year”.   John is proud to have in his archives interviews with international recording artistes, the Manhattans, Jerry Butler, Candy Staton, Shaggy, Marcia Griffiths, Papa San and The Fabulous Five. He has also had the privilege to interview the Vice Chancellor of the University of the West Indies, Professor Rex Nettleford, former Prime Minister of Jamaica, Portia Simpson-Miller, and broadcasters Leonie Forbes, Fae Ellington and the late Charles Hyatt.

A devout Christian and devoted father, John’s most prized possessions are his children. In addition to his love of broadcasting and music, he is an avid cricket fan and player. He enjoys dancing, reading and an occasional movie. John is Kiwanian, member of the ex-police association and uses his daily radio program to touch on politics and sports.
