He also attended the University of South Florida in Tampa, where he graduated in marketing and management.
Mr. Webley began his career in newspapers by delivering papers for Miami Today. He quickly advanced from deliveries to sales, eventually becoming an account executive and top producer for the newspaper.
He launched Caribbean Today news magazine in December 1989 to fill what he saw as a need for greater and better news coverage of the Caribbean region and of Caribbean people in South Florida.
Twenty seven years later, Caribbean Today is a thriving tabloid-size publication. The Florida-based newspaper has made its name by providing news and information about the Caribbean and South Florida to both local Caribbean’s and the wider U.S. community in South Florida. Thanks to the internet, the paper’s reach extends far beyond South Florida; it is widely read throughout the United States, Caribbean, and around the world.
Mr. Webley is the president of the Green Hills/Southland Pines Homeowners Association; a founding member of the Jamaica Tourist Board Liaison Committee; a founding member of the South Dade Kiwanis Club; and a founding member of the Jamaican-American Chamber of Commerce.
He has been married to his wife Maureen for 22 years. They have two sons, Brandon 22, and Nicolas 20.
