Since that time, they turned it into one of the area’s more popular seafood and meat markets, with clients coming from as far away as Orlando and area restaurants selecting from its more than 30 varieties of seafood.
The Lujos knew early on that the Caribbean population was steadily increasing and that people from the islands and Latin America gravitated toward fresh meat and produce.
Additionally, Lujo had a strong commitment to giving back to the community that supported his store. He was the first to offer a special discount to churches and local non profit organizations.
Broward Meat And Fish Company was founded in 1991, with an original 12,000 square-foot store at 4300 N. St. Rd. 7 (441) in Lauderdale Lakes. In May of 2008 they opened a new 36,000 square-foot store at 8040 West McNab in North Lauderdale.
