A fixture in South Florida, his services to this community are vast ranging from coaching and mentoring to educational training, all focusing on the development of youth in the communities in which he lives and serves.
In 1998 Levoyd began his service as a City Commissioner of Lauderdale Lakes’ where he served through 2008. He was called to serve the city again from 2010 – 2014. As a Commissioner He has served on the Board of the Broward League of Cities, Chair of the Education Committee for the League. He served as the President of Broward Black Elected Officials, First Vice President of Florida Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials and he served as the Chair of the Broward Planning Council for two years. Levoyd was one of the leading forces to create the Community Redevelopment Agency in Lauderdale Lakes and he started the City’s holiday lighting ceremony.
Additionally he served on the Internet and Technology Steering Committee and the Council on Youth of the National League of Cities. Williams also served on the Board of Director for the National Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials.
